About the dish

Bibimbap, queen of traditional dishes, whose name means rice stirred and mixed. Early summer brims with the vitality of youth spreading its wings, the clear sunlight evoking an endless blue sea. If this season is the queen of the year, then bibimbap is its dish — over white rice like a maiden's white skirt, a rainbow of yak-gochujang, mung-bean jelly, fern, beef, shiitake, squash and egg garnish, all stirred together.

Key ingredient

Young summer radish (yeolmu) — good for restoring vigor and effective for both low and high blood pressure; supports wellness around the blood from turning acidic and boosts appetite; builds resistance to viruses and bacteria to help support wellness around colds and infection; improves eyesight. In season June; grown nationwide.

Ingredients

Main: rice, yeolmu kimchi, gochujang, sesame oil · Seasoning: gochujang, sugar, sesame

Simple recipe

  1. Finely chop the yeolmu kimchi.
  2. Place the yeolmu kimchi over the rice.
  3. Add gochujang and sesame oil.
  4. Top with a fried egg.
  5. Mix briskly and serve refreshingly cool.
