Gogi-guksu is Jeju's homegrown dish of noodles in a rich pork broth, topped with slices of boiled pork. No island feast, wedding or family occasion went without it — a warm, familiar bowl for the people of Jeju.
Pork — about ten times the vitamin B1 of beef, excellent for fatigue and energy metabolism; ample quality protein plus methionine to protect and wellness the liver, and unsaturated fats that help lower blood cholesterol. In season year-round, mainly from Jeju and the Jirisan area.
