About the dish

Jeonju's byword for a hangover cure. Soybean sprouts, rich in vitamins, were long used for hangovers. Jeonju-style kongnamul-gukbap — rice and sprouts warmed by toryeom in an earthen pot, topped with egg — is a famous dish that sees drinkers through the morning.

Main: soybean sprouts, rice, egg, gim, scallion, anchovy stock · Seasoning: minced garlic, salted shrimp, chili powder, salt

Simple recipe

  1. Make a refreshing stock with soybean sprouts.
  2. Put rice and sprouts in an earthen pot.
  3. Pour in stock and warm by toryeom.
  4. Season with salted shrimp, minced garlic and chili powder.
  5. Top with egg, gim flakes and scallion and boil before serving.
